This colorful, coastal Florida wedding was so wholesome (like the kind of wholesome where anytime the bride got nervous she would just grab her groom’s hand and all would be better). The creative direction for this wedding was so fun to see come to life, from our first call to their wedding day to their final gallery being delivered. My couple trusted me to take care of all their visuals, and the overall vibes of their day were at an all-time high!
About this Colorful Coastal Florida Wedding
Melanie and Aeden are high school sweethearts who officially tied the knot at the Tampa Bay Watch in the springtime. Every minute of this sweet couple’s day felt so authentic to who they are; nothing was forced or performative for the sake of photos. While they had the most eclectic wedding day details, they cared more about the time they spent with family and friends.
But to share more about the unique aspects of their day, I wanted to highlight their wedding florist, Kali from Blue House Floral. She is a sustainable florist with almost all blooms coming from her personal garden. The only blooms that didn’t come from her garden were the citrus roses but those were a special request by Melanie. Their wedding day florals were the perfect balance of an eclectic garden party with a touch of tropical blooms.
In addition to the flowers, they brought vibrant colors in to every aspect of their day. The bridesmaids wore colorful mismatched dresses that corresponded the color palette and natural location seamlessly. My favorite detail is Aeden’s pale yellow van. It was his first car in high school and they’ve been driving in it together since they started dating. The van was the perfect get away car. As they drove away, all the guests sang “Astrovan” as they drove away – so fun!

Sweet side note: the bride, Melanie, and I met while working together at a wedding in 2022. She was the coordinator, and I was photographing the wedding. I think it’s super cool that another vendor liked working with me so much that they wanted me to capture their own wedding.
